Cute little shop with the menu posted really big on your right when you walk in. Not a whole lot in there since all they really sell are pot pies. There is a ramp to walk up when you come through the door. The lady who helped me explained each pie, pricing, and how to cook it. The pies ARE NOT cooked! You have to do that. But it's so super easy and they come out amazing! I got the Shepherd's pie. It was so so good. The crust is perfectly flaky. My husband and son really enjoyed it too. I will definitely be coming back to try more pies!
There are many different kinds to choose from. They only come frozen. Pop in the oven at home for an hour. The first time I went, I got the turkey and enjoyed it. By now, I have tried most of their pies, and in my opinion, they are all bland and lacking season. The jambalaya pie is the worst tasting one. I don't think Italian sausage belongs in jambalaya, and all I could taste was tomato paste or sauce.
They have two sizes 6 and 10 inch. 6 inch are around $10.
Try it once, see what you think.
The pies are not ready to eat. You'll have to take them home and cook in the oven for at least an hour and a half. There are a variety of dishes to try out and you can pick from the options. I took the classic chicken pie, though I wasn't entirely impressed. It had a lot of mayo, green peas and sweet corn. No is no dine-in and parking in limited in the square. Generally the service is great and friendly.
Visited Paul’s Pot Pies for the first time today and had a great experience. The person assisting me was super helpful and gave me great tips for cooking the pie. He recommended cooking it frozen, placing the pie directly on the wire rack, putting an empty pan on the bottom of the oven (to catch any drippings) and watching for golden crust. I got the jambalaya pie and it was yummy! Lots of shrimp, sausage and chicken are packed into the pie. It’s definitely a hearty, filling meal. Can’t wait to try the other pies.
I drove by this place the other day and couldn’t wait to try! I love Chicken Pot Pie so finding this gem was exciting. I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at their menu and saw a wide array of different Pies. I ordered the Chicken Curry Pie to try something different than the traditional. The employee that took my order was very nice and helpful and explained how to cook the dish accordingly. After trying the chicken curry my only note would be that it was drier than what I’m used to with traditional pot pie. The flavor was amazing for sure, but consistency-wise I’m used to more of a runny inside. Otherwise will recommend and buy in the future.
I haven’t had a pot pie from Paul’s that I didn’t like. Although, my all time favorite is the curry pot pie. At first, I thought this would just be fair, so I got a smaller pie, but what a surprise. It was delicious.
These pies were pretty delicious. I tried three different ones and they were all good. The seafood was a surprisingly new twist on pot pies, and the chicken curry was very flavorful and held together perfectly. My favorite one was barbeque, which unfortunately was a special so you cannot get it all the time. If it's there, I highly recommend it. My only problem is that the crust isn't too flavorful, but it's texture is amazing and the filling does the rest of the work anyways. I'll definitely pick up pies from here in the future.
There’s a reason why “hole in the wall” places like this exist.
If you are going to do ONE thing, you better do it well. This spot does Pot Pies. That’s it!
I finally got in here after passing by a few times when they were closed.
Pro tip: you can order about an hour ahead and they’ll heat up a pie for you (large can feed 3-4 people, small 1-2) for lunch specifically.
Since I didn’t know that walking in, I had to wait an hour.
I ordered a small 6” Shephard’s Pie. Of course the first bite was pipping hot, but I could barely wait for this to cool!
The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, but the crust is what makes this place 5-stars.
After I finished up my “personal pie” I stopped back in and picked up a pie to bake at home. This time I went for the classic Chicken Pot Pie.
Right now I am sitting at home on a cold December evening, enjoying what I can only describe as one of the best pot pies I may ever taste (Sorry grandma, may you rest in peace)
Thank you chef and team over at Paul’s Pot Pies. Such an awesome - simple concept. Well executed and deserving of any awards that waft your way.
